~Have tissues ready~

I forgot that I had this in my E mails...It is a very heart warming story. I could not figure out how to make the link work...so if you want, you can cut and paste it on a new tab. Make sure you have tissues handy!

This short video is called 99 balloons. It truly
reveals the truth that God does indeed walk with us through the storms of life. The family in this video is inspiring. I will never see balloons the same ever again.

~To Cute~

On the first day, God created the dog and said:

'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.'

The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?'

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:

'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.'

The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?'

And God agreed..

On the third day, God created the cow and said:

'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.'

The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?'

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:

'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.'

But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?'

'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.'

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family.. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone..

Life has now been explained to you.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.

Dossie's day at the Pumpkin Patch with School and Dad

~Here is my first attempt at canning~

Wishing myself luck!I thought that my stove was really big...after having these on there..I am changing my mind!
I thought that it was going to be a fast thing....uhhhh NO! the prep is the longest. But I had a great time! I am definitely doing this again. Oh my gosh...I am doing it!All finished.
I am a little worried about this one with the big space...I am all paranoid that it is going to explode!!! Dang instructions.

Tomorrow is going to be apple butter if I have enough apples.

I didn't need sugar or anything...I just wish I remembered what apples I used.

~Aprons~

I don't think our kids know what an apron is.

The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress
underneath; but, along with that, it served as a potholder for

removing hot pans from the oven.

It was wonderful for drying children's tears and, on occasion, was
even used for cleaning out dirty ears.

From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy
chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished

in the warming oven.

When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids.

And when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms.

Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot
wood stove.

Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.

From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had
been shelled, it carried out the hulls.

In the fall, the apron was20used to bring in apples that had fallen from
the trees.

When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much
furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of

seconds.

When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her
apron, and the men knew it was time to come in from

the fields to dinner.

It will be a long time before someone invents something that will
replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.

Send this to those who would know, and love the story about Grandma's
aprons.

REMEMBER:

Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool.

Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.

They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on
that apron.

~Why the kids should not play the computer~

ARGGGGG....I am not sure which one it was, cause they both like to look at my page, but some how one of them messed up my dashboard. All of the people that I follow and a few of my saved postings were GONE!!!!!!!

What the HEdoublehockeysticks!?!?!?! Now I have to go and figure out how I found some of the blogs that I follow. Fun for me.

~Canning AppleSauce~

I am going to do it today!!!! I am also going to try to make apple butter...wish me luck!

~Pumpkins~

Ok, I have a really hard time remembering to take pictures of all the new stuff that I am trying...I have really been inspired by a few people to start making stuff from scratch, canning, and all the other "NATURAL" ways to do things.

I went and bought a few pumpkins yesterday and decided that I wanted to make my own pumpkin pie fillings...from my own pumpkins!! I had to see what would be better...canning or freezing. Well, I discovered that freezing is best.

So I did it!!!! It was a lot of fun too! Here are the pictures of what I remembered to take pictures of...Remember....I had only had ONE cup of coffee.Seeds for planting.

~What Fun~

I love to do art stuff...I always have these really cool ideas in my head...just floating around...and then when I try to do them, they turn to crap!!!

I have found that I really love this one...you bake this playdoh like stuff and then bake it and when it is all dried out you can paint it. We made Christmas ornaments last year for presents. It was so much fun! So this time we did a Halloween one. But the only problem is,I forgot to put the hole in the top so we can put a string in it to hang them...DUH ME!

~Open House at the Fire Station~

Today we went to the open house at the Molalla Fire Station. It was a lot of fun.

The kids on the back of the Fire Truck. Adalynne was alittle embarressed to have her picture taken. I guess she is getting to old for this kind of stuff. It was really funny cause the other mom's behind me were giving her crap for not wanting her picture taken.Ash was in AWWWW of all the things in the trucks.

Adalynne's picture of "Safety" was put up in the fire station. She was so excited!

Sitting in the Fire Truck.
The kids got to ride on a Fire Truck around town. It was the first time for all of us. This was the one that we got to ride in.
