I have not relized how long it has been since I have blogged.
Ever since I got sucked into FACEBOOK
madness, I have let this go to the side.
Which is sad, because I really enjoyed
and still enjoy blogs.

I keep up on all my blogging buddies.
So, now I need to figure out what in the world am I going to share
with the whole 6 people who read this.
LOL

Be ready for more random stuff here soon!

A Soldier's Take on Michael Jackson's Death

This is written by a young soldier serving his third tour of duty in Iraq. Thought you might find his take on the Michael Jackson news interesting and he's right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Folks, Okay, I need to rant.
I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on Michael Jackson. As we all know, Jackson died the other day. He was an entertainer who performed for decades. He made millions, he spent millions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villian to many people. I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, and I respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn't the point of my rant.
Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses their minds with grief. When a man dies whose only contribution to the country was to ENTERTAIN people, the Amercian people find the need to flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress sees the need to hold a "moment of silence" for his passing?
Am I missing something here? ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's a freaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades? What about all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom? All those Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war, still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the United States of America. Where is their moment of silence? Where are the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning over them because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when a Soldier dies, there are more people saying "good riddence," and "thank God for IEDs?" When did this country become so calloused to the sacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off their deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a "Pop Icon?"
I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESS for Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for every service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They need to PUBLICLY recognize every life that has been lost so that the American people can live their callous little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE, those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided for them. But, wait, that would take too much time, because there have been so many willing to make that sacrifice. After all, we will never make millions of dollars. We will never star in movies, or write hit songs that the world will listen too. We only shed our blood, sweat and tears so that people can enjoy what they have.
Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it. Remember these five words the next time you think of someone who is serving in the military;
"So that others may live..."
Dossie thought that the spike made him smarter.
Later on in the day, he told me he was done being smart.
So down went the spiked hair.
My kids and I went on a camping trip with my best friend and her family during the 4th of July. This is the first family trip I have ever done with my BFF. I know, I am a terrible friend.
It such a fun time! They had a parade for the kids, face painting,swimming in the Lake, What a great time!
I can not wait to do it again next year!
On our way to our camp, we stopped at this really cool garden area. These plants eat bug! Not like the Venus flytrap. I took a picture of what the plaque said, but you can not read it on here.
Looking around..
This was the day we spent at the lake.
Brandon and Raina.
My BFF is in the background, that is her in the pink!
My girls and I swam out to the dock.
I forgot how much fun it is to swim in a lake!
I rented a paddle boat...yes, just me and the kids.
I considered it my exercise for the day.
Was a ton of fun!
I think Adalynne was trying to see what it is like to be a horse eating from a bag. LOL
This is princess Becca not happy...she was so mad that mommy would not let her eat off the sand!
Becca boo!
The Ant and the Contact Lens
Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens . "Great", she thought. "Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry."
She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there.
She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens.
When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth."
She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me."
Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?"
Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!
The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You."
I think it would do all of us some good to say, "God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will."
God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him....I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)
This is a simple test. If you love GOD and are not ashamed of all the marvelous things He has done for you, share this story.
This is what I saw out my window the other day.
I already knew what it was....
Yep, Dossie was helping our cat.
Poor little thing. It was hiding among the clovers in the grass.
Dossie was so happy when I took it out and let him see it. Then he had to follow it
I can not believe that he will be in High School next year.
I am so proud of him. He is such a loving,well mannered young man.
